THIS IS US - KINGSTON YOUTH !

TEEN WORKSHOPS
Wednesdays, 3:30pm - 5pm, April 15 - May 8
We give teens a voice to tell their own stories
What is a challenge that you face in your life?
Teens write, perform and film their own stories.
Kingston community teens will write stories that focus on a challenge they face. Workshop leaders will guide and direct teens to write their stories creating scenes, monologues and song. Guided by our filmmaker teens will create short Tiktok videos. Upon parental approval youth will post their videos on social media.
At the culminating event teens will attend a Voice Theatre mainstage performance at no charge, focusing on the same themes we have highlighted in the workshops. The performance will be followed by a talkback and we will enjoy the Tiktok videos. Selected teens will perform their original pieces live. Parents, friends and family may also attend the performance and workshop talk back at no charge.

“What the Voice Theatre team and Shauna Kanter did in seven days with a dozen youngsters, was nothing short of brilliant. The performance showcased a tapping, clapping, rapping dance; a funny improv skit titled Bus Stop; a pathos-filled short play, Raspberry Tart, and more. The young actors’ enthusiasm and talent shone, and the audience left wanting more, much more.” - Sheila Isenberg.
